Brand Guidelines 101 and Why Every Brand or Organization Needs one

What are Brand Guidelines?

Brand guidelines, also known as the style guide or brand manual, is a comprehensive document that outlines the rules, specifications, and standards for maintaining consistency and coherence in a brand's visual and messaging elements. It includes guidelines on logo usage, color palette, typography, imagery, tone of voice, and other visual and verbal elements that represent the brand, project or event.

Why does every organization and company benefit from having it?

Brand guidelines ensure that all marketing materials, communications, and products align with the brand or projects identity and values, helping to establish a strong and recognizable presence across all platforms and channels.

Consistency in the brand is key. 🔑

We build and keep that consistency by sticking with the same logos, exact colors, fonts, etc. as opposed to switching up your brands style with every marketing piece, post or statement.

Brandmetix Brand Guidelines created by our design partner, Impackedful:

You can even have a brand guideline for a specific project or event.

We work with many different organizations that host an annual party. Every year is a different theme, so brand guidelines are encouraged here, so we can make sure everything coordinates.

Specific things we look at from Brand Guidelines

  • Logos and different variations

  • Colors (we love when Pantone colors are stated and not just CMYK, RGB or Hex codes)

  • Fonts

We are happy to help get you started with creating your own Brand Guidelines! Or if you already have one, and would like to send it to us so we can suggest products and apparel, please email it over to
